From this task we learnt what typical rock music videos consist of and their codes and conventions. Rock videos are mainly performance based with some or little narrative. However some videos are mainly narrative based with very little performance so it can vary. They have a lot of quick cuts as the songs are often fast paced so to edit on the beat it would have to be lots of quick cuts. A lot of the mise en scene for rock videos is quite weird and alternative, for example women coming out of the walls in Royal Bloods video and red hot chilli peppers doing weird stuff in their video.
